“The reason my Father loves me is that I lay down my life—only to take it up again.” John 10:17
Jesus was willing to give up His life for you and me.
That is a hard thing to do. It’s one thing to act in an emergency to save the life of a friend and quite another to act out a carefully laid plan.
For 18 years Jesus knew He must die. When at the age of 12 He went to the Passover and began to understand the ceremonies and for the first time He connected the prophecies of the Old Testament with the sacrificial system.
At the age of 12 He learned that He was the sacrifice for the human race. He must lay down His life, willingly – not impulsively. And for 18 more years He had to wait until the right time.
Oh, what torture for Him and a blessing for you and me!
Jesus paid it all and all to Him I owe.
I praise God today for the life and sacrifice of Jesus.
What say you about God today?
Spiritual Exercise is an important part of my daily regimen, and it should be a part of yours too. If you spend an hour a day doing physical exercise to keep in shape, then why not spend an hour a day doing spiritual exercise? If you spend an hour a day in leisure activities like watching TV, then why not spend an hour a day with God?
Salvation is a one-to-one affair. Family or church worship isn’t enough to form and grow a relationship with God.
So, join me and spend time with God. You’ll love it!
Share this if it has blessed you.
