CAN YOU BE LOVING LIKE JESUS TODAY?

1 Corinthians 6:2 “Do ye not know that the saints shall judge the world?”

Make no mistake, the righteous will review each case and confirm that God’s judgment was correct.

The righteous will be the court of appeals and will not overturn one case in the heavenly courts at the end of time.

This world is broken and near its end.

Sin has run its ugly course, and is found wanting.

All intelligent life has concluded that “love” must be the foundation of all society, and little of it is found on earth.

I pray that you and I can and will be loving today. Let us exude the love of Jesus in all we do.

Please add your comments to this thought at the bottom of this post so others can be blessed through your words also.

You and I can benefit much from studying the life of Jesus. It will give us the same power from the Father that He received. Power that will slowly change our desires to be more pure. Power that will slowly help us to dislike sinful things. When our desires and “likes” change we can be used by God as a sweet aroma to help others.

Salvation is a one-to-one affair. Family or church worship isn’t enough to form and grow a relationship with God.

So, join me and spend time with God. Spiritual Exercises are fun, You’ll love it!

If Jesus spent all night in prayer then why do we think we need so little?

Jesus would arise early in the morning and go outside and find a place of seclusion to pray. He spent time with the Father and received strength. It allowed Him to resist temptation. It allowed Him to succeed in His mission.

HAVE YOU CONFESSED YOU SINS YET TODAY?

1 John 1:9 “If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.”

Jesus never fails us. We can rely upon His word.

This text in the Bible brings us much courage as we meditate on the character of Christ.

Praise God for forgiveness for our rebellions of sin.

This morning I confess and have a peace in my heart that only God provides.

How about you?

TODAY CAN BE SPECIAL BECAUSE YOU ARE FREE

Heb 9:24 “For Christ is not entered into the holy places made with hands, which are the figures of the true; but into heaven itself, now to appear in the presence of God for us.”

Jesus is still working; still working for us; for you and me.

He is our representative before the law and the Holy Judge. Satan accuses us of unforgivable transgressions, and Jesus smiles and covers us with His robe of righteousness.

We are made clean by the blood of Jesus and this should affect our feelings and our attitudes here on earth.

We can be free from the shackles of guilt. We can be free to move forward in ministry to others.

We can be free to move among the righteous and the wicked as directed by the Holy Spirit.

This is a wonderful life where we are released from the burdens of sin.

Rejoice with me and come to Jesus in prayer, meditation upon God’s Word and the study of the Bible. This is Spiritual Exercise.

THE AUDACITY OF SAINTS

Heb 4:16 “Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need.”

Yes, we are encouraged to come directly to God where there is mercy for us in our time of need.

When all is bleak. When all seems lost. When all is overwhelming. We can come to Jesus under all conditions.

No matter how severe our troubles, Jesus is there for us. He will give us strength. He will raise our courage.

We can come to the throne of grace with boldness because we are children of the almighty God. We are loved as His children.

As we love Him with all our hearts, He opens the door and releases power for us. Divine power to overcome the evils of this world.

Join me today and praise God for this love that will not let us go.

JESUS IS MY PRIEST AND MY BEST FRIEND

Heb 8:1-2 “Now of the things which we have spoken this is the sum: We have such an high priest, who is set on the right hand of the throne of the Majesty in the heavens;”

Jesus is our High Priest, and He is at the throne room of God.

Our mediator is of the highest order. He is God Himself sitting next to the Father.

When Satan accuses us, Jesus counters with the truth of our love for Him, and He agrees with the guilt, but then He applies His sacrifice on Calvary as the payment for our sins.

This is the ultimate gift that keeps on giving. Jesus never tires of helping you and me.

Join me today and praise God for this love that will not let us go.

ARE YOU FEELING TENDERHEARTED TODAY?

Eph 4:32 “And be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ’s sake hath forgiven you.”

This is such a good text for you and me to read.

So often we forget this counsel and treat each other with disrespect. We can be very harsh and demanding.

Jesus is our model and He was tender and sensitive to the feelings of others.

I pray that you and I will be like Him today.

DO YOU LIKE GOD THE FATHER?

Eph 2:18 “For through him we both have access by one Spirit unto the Father.”

The Father is the source of all power. He gave power to Jesus, the same power that is available to you and me.

If we would come closer to the Father, then our ministry would receive more power.

So, why don’t we do it?

God would like for us to be more effective, but first we must be more like Jesus.

It’s that simple.

Spiritual Exercise of prayer, Bible study and meditation upon God’s Word is the only way to have that relationship with Jesus that changes our carnal desires into holy ones.

I praise God for this power and this love from God.

LET’S TALK ABOUT GOD’S GRACE

Rom 3:24 “Being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus.”

It is refreshing, each morning, to reconsider this fact that we are saved and will have eternal life.

Not we are proud. No. We humbly accept this grace that we don’t deserve.

We accept this grace in order to praise God and worship Him and love others.

Our first duty is to love the Lord with ALL our hearts. And when we keep our eyes upon this need, then all other things fall into place.

I love writing about God’s love and I love reading about it also.

There is a lot to say and there is a lot to relish.

Don’t you feel better already? I know, I do.

Praise God for His love and eagerness to help you and me.

OH HAPPY DAY! OH HAPPY DAY!

Rom 6:23 “. . . the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.”

More good news!

I am a Jesus “groupie” and plan to stay that way.

My friendship with Him is changing me for the better and I’m a happy camper.

Only as we spend time with Him each day with Spiritual Exercise can we access this power from the Father. You see, none of this is on my own. No, I can do nothing about my sinful nature and weaknesses. My DNA is so corrupted that I am powerless on my own.

God will give you power also, as you follow the example of Jesus and pray and study the Bible.

What a joy is ours as we partake of His divine nature.

JESUS, OUR MODEL, ACTED AS A LAMB OF GOD. WHAT DOES THAT MEAN TO YOU AND ME?

John 1:29 “The next day John seeth Jesus coming unto him, and saith, Behold the Lamb of God, which taketh away the sin of the world.”

John, at that moment, understood the mission of Jesus.

Later, he wondered about His kingship and if He would take over the government, but that was not the way it would be.

Jesus came to us as a lamb. He sought no glory. He spurned this world’s money in favor of eternal life for you and me.

You and I would do well to follow His example and lead lives of self-sacrifice, where we would rather help someone else than add gold and silver to our pockets.

Jesus was meek until He met hypocrisy. He was loving at all times. He loved children and children were drawn to Him.

This is our model, and only through Spiritual Exercise can we become like Him.

LET’S ACT LIKE SHEEP AND ALSO FORGET OUR MISTAKES :)

Isa 53:6 “All we like sheep have gone astray;”

Yes, but there is good news. We are forgiven and our past is forgotten.

Now, our challenge is to also forget our past.

If Jesus forgets, then why don’t we forget?

I believe that Spiritual Exercise (prayer, Bible study, and meditation upon God’s Word) helps us to forget.

Whether we murdered or just offended, these sins desire to haunt us and drag us down.

Jesus wants us to live life with energy and a positive outlook. Afterall we have a blessed hope of eternal life with Him.

So, let’s act like it 🙂

JESUS SUFFERED FOR YOU – HOW MUCH DO YOU CARE?

Isa 53:5 “But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed.”

When we think of the suffering of Jesus, our minds are drawn to His death, but prior to that He suffered great pain and agony as He was beaten and tortured by the cross.

We realize it was in payment for our iniquities and transgressions. Satan laughed. Satan rejoiced. Satan boasted, thinking he had won the battle of love.

But just a few hours later, he realized his tragic loss. He discovered the truth of love – that eternal life cannot exist without it.

God leads us to a life of self-sacrifice and love for others.

This is what it means to be a Christian.

I pray that as a result of Spiritual Exercise, you and I will bear much fruit today by sharing this love for the benefit of others.

ARE YOU ON THE INSIDE OR OUTSIDE?

Rev 16:17 “And the seventh angel poured out his vial into the air; and there came a great voice out of the temple of heaven, from the throne, saying, It is done.”

One day there will be a pronouncement to end sin and sinners.

The righteous will be rescued and taken to live with God in heaven.

We look at the world and can see how corrupt and wicked it is.

Time is getting ever shorter and only those who know Jesus and are close to Him are on the inside.

I pray that you are one of these.

So, we have work to do as we are salt of the earth who live to serve others and brighten their day with the good news of the love of Jesus.

Spiritual Exercise prepares us for this duty that is fruit of our relationship with Him.

Praise the Lord for this day of service and worship.

DO YOU EVER THINK ABOUT JESUS – WHERE HE IS?

Ps 11:4 “The Lord is in his holy temple, the Lord’s throne is in heaven;”

I think about where God lives and see, in my mind’s eye, a glorious place where the brightness of God’s glory fills the place with light.

God loves light. Satan loves darkness.

God is directing the activities of angels who are ministering to you and me – they are helping us as we help others.

You and I are a part of a very large operation. We are ambassadors for Jesus and daughters and sons of the King of kings.

We have a special position in the order of things.

Our position should be cherished and understood. It is a great responsibility and nothing to be taken lightly.

It is easy to be distracted, but you and I need to spend time each morning to reconnect and refresh this understanding.

I praise God for His desire for us to help share His love in our own place and in our own way.

PURE RELIGION IS NOT WHAT YOU’RE THINKING . . .

James 1:27 “Pure religion and undefiled before God and the Father is this, To visit the fatherless and widows in their affliction, and to keep himself unspotted from the world.”

Many people think that “pure” religion is just going to church for one hour each week.

James disagrees.

A life of service to others involves taking time out of our busy schedules to help other people.

Time. That’s the challenge in today’s busy world where everyone is too busy.

We need to take time for God in many ways. Bible study, prayer and meditation upon His Word as well as serving others.

Think about how much time you spend in front of a TV or playing video games. Is this what Jesus would do?

I pray that today we can experience true religion and come closer to Jesus.

GOD LOVES YOU HOW MUCH DO YOU LOVE HIM?

Jer 31:3 “The Lord hath appeared of old unto me, saying, I Yea, I have loved thee with an everlasting love

Another expression of love from God in the Old Testament.

Some people are afraid of the Old Testament Lord, but this expression counters that thought.

God has always been loving and always will be loving.

All he wants from us is to love Him with all our hearts. (see Deut. 6:5)

IS ANYONE TRAINING YOUR CHILDREN OR ARE THEY ON THEIR OWN?

Prov 22:6 “Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it.”

Many children are grow up without being “raised.”

Parents give them no limits on hours in front of the TV, or video games.

Many children have TV’s in their bedrooms!

Diligent parents carefully monitor the behavior of their children as they develop habits that will stay with them.

Child neglect during the young years is passive abuse.

Children are incapable of making sound and wise choices until they are older and a wise parent is able to guide them with logical reasons that the child can understand and adopt.

Of course, there are exceptions, but this Bible text along with guidance from the Holy Spirit helps to develop children that excell and who are happy.

Coming close to God during this process helps the parent remain calm and steady as a leader in the household.

I praise God for the Holy Spirit who helps us in this process.

HOW WELL DO YOU LIKE YOUR CHILDREN?

Ps 127:3 “Lo, children are an heritage of the Lord; and the fruit of the womb is his reward.”

Some parents seem to hate their children.

Parents taking recreational drugs mistreat their children.

Parents who care more about their own entertainment, ignore their children.

Parents who care more about their careers ignore their children.

Children today are no better off than 100 years ago, in my opinion.

So many have no responsibilities in the home, and only play video games, or cell phone activities.

It is the rare home that prays each day and that is spiritual.

It is a rare home that is a haven from the world and a calm place.

You and I can and should encourage all families to treasure their children as a heritage from God.

They are precious and capable of so much if they are led properly.

I praise God that we have them to bless our lives.

ARE YOU OFFENSIVE OR SUPPORTIVE?

1 Cor 10:32 “Give none offence, neither to the Jews, nor to the Gentiles, nor to the church of God:”

There is more than one way to be offensive.

We can fail to use deoderant, or we can be cruel or insensitive to other people.

I was blessed this week when I was able to help someone in need. I had just closed my truck door and was ready to leave and when I turned to grab my seatbelt I saw a man facing me, standing in the parking lot right next to my truck door. It was cold and windy and he was wearing a coat and gloves. He began speaking to me, so I rolled down my window and he said, “Could you give me a dollar for gas?”

My first thought was not good and that he might just want money for other purposes because one dollar doesn’t buy much fuel, so I asked, “where’s you car?”

“Right over there” he pointed, so I said, “Get In and I’ll help you.”

I drove him over to his car, where he had a container for gas, and I then drove him to a gas station where I purchased a gallon for him and then took him back to his car.

He thanked me and shook my hand before I left.

I was very happy to have helped him when he needed it most and I praised God for the privilege of helping.

Giving offence to a begger is an easy thing to do, and only through the help of God can we be loving and supportive to be of help to others in their hour of need.

I praise Jesus for His love and for His encouragement for us to be loving to all people.

Did you help anyone this week?

DO YOU WANT TO BE LIKE JESUS TODAY?

Ps 63:2-5 “Because thy lovingkindness is better than life, my lips shall praise thee.”

I want to be loving like God. Don’t you?

Even in the Old Testament, the Lord, over and over, loves His people.

When they rejected Him, He finally had to let them go.

Now that we can see the love of the Cross, I praise Him all the more.

As I spend time in Spiritual Exercise, my mind is opened to His love and it fills my heart with joy.

I pray that you will experience this today.

ARE YOU GETTING SUFFICIENT REST?

Mark 6:31 “and he said unto them, Come ye yourselves apart into a desert place, and rest a while: for there were many coming and going, and they had no leisure so much as to eat.”

Jesus needed rest just like you and me.

Today many of us are too busy to rest, and we are sleep deprived, and unable to spend enough time with God in daily Spiritual Exercise.

This is not a good thing because we need our daily time with God in prayer, Bible study and meditation upon God’s Word.

If you are in this condition, then change is needed and God will help you.

So, let’s get our rest as Jesus desires.

ARE YOU DOING SOMETHING FOR SOMEONE TODAY?

Prov 14:23 “In all labour there is profit: but the talk of the lips tendeth only to penury.”

It is easy to talk more and do less.

The Bible appeals to our hearts to labor for others. Jesus tells us to carry burdens for those who are weak.

Out of love, we look to help others with action and not just words.

This is a principle that Jesus followed and is a good reminder for us today.

I praise God for the example of the life of Jesus.

ARE YOUR PRAYERS ANSWERED? IF NOT, READ THIS –

1 John 3:22 “And whatsoever we ask, we receive of him, because we keep his commandments, and do those things that are pleasing in his sight.”

Yes, there are strings attached to our prayer requests.

It would make no sense for God to answer prayers from hypocrites, right?

“But I’m not perfect.” I hear you saying, and that’s a good thing to talk about.

We might not be perfect, but if we are humble and remorseful for our weakness, then God has something to work with in us.

When we are humble, then we are not seen as hypocrites, but as vulnerable to temptation, but with a good heart shown by how we treat the poor and disenfranchised in society.

Our good works mean a lot when it comes to God’s judge of us, because it demonstrates where our hearts are.

Through Spiritual Exercise of prayer, Bible study and meditation upon God’s Word, we can qualify for this benefit because we are closer to God and becoming His friend.

HOW DID YOU DO YESTERDAY?

1 John 2:6 “He that saith he abideth in him ought himself also so to walk, even as he walked.”

The mirror is a wonderful tool. We look into it and measure our spiritual progress.

Of course, I’m talking about the spiritual mirror. Looking at yesterday’s behavior and asking the question, “how did I do?”

If we see fewer mistakes and shortcomings, then we are making progress in our relationship with Jesus.

If we see more difficulties, then we know that we need to spend more time in Spiritual Exercise and get closer to Jesus.

It’s a simple reality that we need to govern our time with Him.

I praise God for this easy method of self-evaluation.

DO YOU LIKE TRUTH?

Phil 4:8 “Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, think on these things.”

By beholding we become changed, and meditating upon biblical truth is a component of the mechanism that brings about change in our characters.

So when we read the Bible we can seek truth and let it linger upon our hearts. We can ponder it throughout the day.

This meditation brings about change in our desires and we become more and more like Jesus.

This is the process of sanctification that makes us holy.

This is the process that fills us with the Holy Spirit.

I praise God for this power from the Father resulting from Spiritual Exercise.

HOW HONEST WILL YOU BE TODAY?

Rom 13:13 “Let us walk honestly”

This is a topic I don’t hear much about these days, when people refer to lies as “spin.”

In today’s culture is seems okay to be a liar. It might even be bragged about. It certainly bears no shame.

But we Christians should be honest. Never swindling, never trying to get a bargain that is too good.

Honesty has good benefits and reflects the character of Jesus.

Today many in Washington D.C. will be celebrating and demonstrating.

Let’s pray that those who are Christians will be good examples and will be honest and upright in their activities.

I pray for peace and I pray that Jesus will be seen in the lives and actions of His people.

DO YOU LOVE MONEY, WEALTH OR JEWELRY?

1 John 2:15 “Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world.”

It’s easy to love money. Steve Jobs, founder of Apple, died a billionare, and he finally understood these words. Money does NOT bring happiness.

In the last five years, many wealthy bankers have committed suicide. They had lots of money, but an even greater amount of stress and inner turmoil.

Only through Spiritual Exercise can we leave the world behind and change our desires for things eternal.

We can learn to love God with ALL our hearts, and let Him direct our paths.

It is a beautiful formula for success and peace and joy.

HOW MUCH WINE DO YOU DRINK?

Eph 5:18 “And be not drunk with wine, wherein is excess; but be filled with the Spirit;”

When you consider these words carefully, you might, like me, conclude that any drink that makes one light-headed or silly is also not good.

Anything that interferes with the Holy Spirit in you, should be avoided.

We are vessels for the Holy Spirit and, as such, need to always be aware of this great responsibility.

So, therefore, mind what you eat and drink and do.

You and I are ambassadors for Jesus at all times.

Spiritual Exercise prepares us for each day’s opportunities to be a witness for Jesus.

WHAT DO YOU THINK OF THESE WORDS?

Gal 6:1-2 “Brethren, if a man be overtaken in a fault, ye which are spiritual, restore such an one in the spirit of meekness;

Yes, the church should be more like a hospital than a court of law.

We should ever be ready to give someone assistance. Help them and lift them up and provide encouragement in meekness.

This is what today’s church needs.

Are you ready to do your part?

Spiritual Exercise prepares us to love our brother and to help.

This is what Jesus did.

DO YOU USE YOUR FREEDOM TO HELP OTHERS?

Gal 5:13 “For, brethren, ye have been called unto liberty; only use not liberty for an occasion to the flesh, but by love serve one another.”

We all desire and love liberty.

Paul is encouraging us to use this liberty for the benefit of others.

It is good to live a life of service where we are always seeking to help someone else.

Jesus lived this way and this type of love is a wonderful thing.

Our good works should be seen as they will encourage other people and lead them to Christ.

Spiritual Exercise will give us the desire and the strength to do this.
