DOES INJUSTICE BOTHER YOU?

Prov. 2:8 “He guards the paths of justice,”

It is reassuring to know that God cares about justice.

He is just Himself as He deals with His creation.

His love exceeds justice as His grace is extended to you and me.

There is much injustice today in this broken world. You and I see it and hear about it nearly every day and our God grieves over it.

But, one day soon there will be an accounting and all will be made right.

In the meantime, we are here among this wickedness and it is our calling to be light. It is our calling to become like Jesus and share justice in our families and friends.

We can be salt of the earth and lighten dark places with the help of the Holy Spirit.

Spiritual Exercise of Bible study, prayer and meditation upon God’s Word helps us throughout each day.

I praise God today for this help.

You and I can benefit much from studying the life of Jesus. It will give us the same power from the Father that He received. Power that will slowly change our desires to be more pure. Power that will slowly help us to dislike sinful things. When our desires and “likes” change we can be used by God as a sweet aroma to help others.

Salvation is a one-to-one affair. Family or church worship isn’t enough to form and grow a relationship with God.

So, join me and spend time with God. Spiritual Exercises are fun, You’ll love it!

If Jesus spent all night in prayer then why do we think we need so little?

Jesus would arise early in the morning and go outside and find a place of seclusion to pray. He spent time with the Father and received strength. It allowed Him to resist temptation. It allowed Him to succeed in His mission.

DO YOU WANT MORE WISDOM?

Prov. 2:7 “He stores up sound wisdom for the upright; He is a shield to those who walk uprightly;”

This is another promise from the Lord to help us in our times of need. He gives us wisdom to guide our decisions.

Oh, if we could always make good decisions.

If you have children, then you understand this need.

Spiritual Exercise of Bible study, prayer and meditation upon God’s Word gives us this wisdom.

I praise God today for this help.

WILL YOU GROW TODAY?

Prov. 2:6 “For the Lord gives [skillful and godly] wisdom; From His mouth come knowledge and understanding.”

God wants us to grow intellectually. He wants us to be wise like He is.

I pray that you and I will grow in Christ today through Spiritual Exercise of prayer, Bible study and meditation upon God’s Word.

HOW REVERENT IS YOUR CHURCH?

Prov. 2:4-5 “If you seek skillful and godly wisdom as you would silver And search for her as you would hidden treasures; Then you will understand the [reverent] fear of the Lord [that is, worshiping Him and regarding Him as truly awesome] And discover the knowledge of God.

To me, this seems to be a forgotten proverb today.

I see many churches on TV where there seems to be little or no reverence with loud bands and constant rejoicing.

Where are people going to hear God’s “still small voice?”

Modern worship seems to consist of rejoicing with no searching for godly wisdom.

Spiritual Exercise consists of Prayer, Bible study and meditation upon God’s Word. This is where reverence is born.

Think about it.

WHAT ARE YOU TEACHING YOUR CHILDREN TODAY?

Prov. 1:8 “Listen, my son, to your father’s instruction and do not forsake your mother’s teaching.”

This is your heritage. This is what should define you if your parents were close to God.

Let this influence do its work in your heart and it will be good.

As parents we need to keep this in mind also.

May the Lord bless us today as we go about our business.

IS YOUR NAME STILL IN THE BOOK OF LIFE IN HEAVEN?

Rev 3:5 “He that overcometh, the same shall be clothed in white raiment; and I will not blot out his name out of the book of life, but I will confess his name before my Father, and before his angels.”

We can do nothing to add our name into the book, because it’s already there.

It is up to us if we want our name to remain there.

If we have no relationship with God, then on the day of judgment, our name will be removed, and no one wants that to happen.

It is up to us. Do we love God with all our heart? This is the test.

If we love God, then we will unite with Him and become holy as we engage in Spiritual Exercise.

I praise God for this help He is eager to give to us.

THE LORD IS COMING FOR HIS PEOPLE AND IT IS SOON

2 Peter 3:10 “But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night. .”

Make no mistake about this.

These aren’t my words. They come from the Bible.

I know I’m preaching to the choir, but we all have friends who are unprepared, and we pray for them each day.

These words encourage you and me and give us hope.

THERE IS AN END TO SIN AND A SINFUL WORLD

Matthew 24:14 “And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations; and then shall the end come.”

I am greatly encouraged to see so many Christians and Christian organizations working to fulfill the Gospel Commission.

Religious issues are prominent and the Holy Spirit is working to guide and while some hearts are becoming hard, others are responding to the love of Jesus.

Let us pray that the end can be hastened and not delayed.

THERE MIGHT BE SORROWS AHEAD, BUT JESUS DELIVERS COURAGE

Matthew 24:7-8 “For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be famines, and pestilences, and earthquakes, in divers places. All these are the beginning of sorrows.”

Yes, these are the beginning of sorrows.

As we come closer to Jesus through Spritual Exercise of Bible study, prayer and meditation upon God’s Word, these sorrows will have less and less impact.

These sorrows will disrupt the world and cause much stress, but those who love God with ALL their hearts, will not become discouraged.

God’s people will tolerate all difficulties. They will face hardship with courage.

There is a strength from God that helps weather all storms.

I praise God for this prophecy that prepares and encourages His people.

GOING TO CHURCH ISN’T ENOUGH

Mt 7:22-23 “Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works? And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.”

No. We need to have Jesus as a close friend!

I have the feeling that lots of Christians leave meet Jesus once a week in church.

Jesus should be our best friend. Afterall, He knows us better than anyone else.

As we grow closer to Him, He comes closer to us. He will guide us and comfort us during difficult times.

He can sympathize with us, because He knows what suffering is.

He understand our troubles, our grief and our pain.

I praise God for Jesus who makes such a difference in this dark, short-lived world.

THERE ARE SIGNS IN THE SKY FOR THOSE WHO LOOK

Joel 2:31 “The sun shall be turned into darkness, and the moon into blood, before the great and the terrible day of the Lord come.”

This has happened once, already and I expect it will happen again as a sign (Google “dark day”).

So many people don’t seem to care about Jesus. All they think about are themselves.

You and I can be salt of the earth if we come close to Jesus. We can be a sweet influence for good.

God’s clock is ticking and the stakes are large.

But grace and patience from heaven are holding back this time out of mercy.

I praise God for His mercy.

THERE IS A FUTURE DAY OF GLORY FOR ALL GOD’S PEOPLE

Rev 1:7 “Behold, he cometh with clouds; and every eye shall see him, and they also which pierced him: and all kindreds of the earth shall wail because of him. Even so, Amen.”

I meditate on the scenes of this future day and imagine the happiness of all those who suffered through a dismal life on this sinful planet.

I imagine how happy will be mothers who are reunited with babies.

I imagine who excited will be eyes who see the glory of the Lord for the first time.

I imagine the thrills of victory for the saints of God who meet their Creator for the first time.

Praise God for this love that will not let us go!

YES, I’M STILL TALKING ABOUT THE GLORIOUS 2ND COMING OF JESUS

Heb 9:28 “So Christ was once offered to bear the sins of many; and unto them that look for him shall he appear the second time without sin, unto salvation.”

Earth is in a death spiral. It is slowly getting darker and darker as more and more corrupt people inflict pain on others.

Small nations with unstable governments are developing weapons of mass destruction.

Other nations are vulnerable and world peace is an empty dream.

But there is hope as we know that Jesus will come again to rescue His people and raise the righteous dead.

I praise God for this love that reaches us all the way from heaven.

THE APOSTLE PAUL LOOKED FORWARD TO THE GLORIOUS DAY. HOW ABOUT YOU?

Titus 2:13 “Looking for that blessed hope; and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ.”

The early church and the apostles were excited about Jesus’ return.

They repeatedly referred to this future event with great expectation.

But, who is talking about it today? Does anyone care?

When the world has never been so corrupt and evil should be the time when Christians speak more of this subject.

I, for one, am eagerly awaiting this glorious day when Jesus brings an end to sin and suffering.

How about you?

John 14:3 “And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also.”

You and I are Jesus groupies. We want to be where He is.

We marvel at His life and His ministry. We glorify in His sacrifice that gives us salvation.

We confess our sins at the foot of the Cross.

We love Him with all our heart, and that’s what He wants.

Mt 16:27 “For the Son of man shall come in the glory of his Father with his angels; and then he shall reward every man according to his works.”

This is great news and I like to meditate on this scene.

Can you imagine the brightness? The heavenly sounds? The smiling faces?

This will be an emotional summit for God’s people.

There are rewards for those who love God with all their heart.

This can be experienced only by those who know God and who worship Him.

TODAY I WORSHIP MY CREATOR AS I SMELL THE FRAGRANCE OF SPRING

Rev. 14:7 “. . .worship him that made heaven, and earth, and the sea, and the fountains of waters.”

I accept what the Bible says about creation and I worship my Lord who did it. I’ll let the scientists argue about the details, while I bask in the glory of God.

We don’t need all the answers. All we need is reason to praise God for who He is.

When I look at spring flowers and blossoming trees and fragrance of life, then I only want to praise God more.

I praise Him today with all my heart.

YOU AND I DO KNOW, BUT HOW ABOUT OUR FRIENDS?

Mark 13:33 “Take ye heed, watch and pray: for ye know not when the time is.”

You and I are already aware of the shortness of time. But there are others who don’t realize the importance of readiness. The time of judgment is quickly coming upon us and so many are not ready.

Many people know this truth but are more interested in the world. They put off a relationship with Jesus and end up losing their happiness.

You and I can help them by examples of love and sensitivity. Our love can draw them to Jesus, and I like that.

Let’s love someone today and make a difference in their life.

Rev 3:5 “He that overcometh, the same shall be clothed in white raiment; and I will not blot out his name out of the book of life, but I will confess his name before my Father, and before his angels.”

Jesus confesses our names before the Father. We are clothed in white and are classified as saved in the heavenly court of love.

When we get to really know Jesus through Spiritual Exercise, then He confesses our name. Yes, Jesus knows our name and talks about us in heaven.

When we know Jesus we begin to change and our desire to do sinful things dissipates. We overcome with God’s power in us.

Our future is secure and eternal.

I praise God for this love that gives us this inner peace and security.

SATAN’S END IS NEAR – LET’S REJOICE IN JESUS

Rev 12:10-11 “And I heard a loud voice saying in heaven, Now is come salvation, and strength, and the kingdom of our God, and the power of his Christ: for the accuser of our brethren is cast down, which accused them before our God day and night.”

Satan is headed for judgment. He will no longer have no one to tempt and destroy.

The righteous will be taken to heaven to be with God, and Satan will have no one to rule over. He will be cast down.

Our future is bright and eternal, so I am happy today. I rejoice that the blood of Jesus saves me.

I rejoice in the love of God.

Today let us pray for those who don’t believe that God’s love will change their hearts.

If Jesus spent all night in prayer then why do we think we need so little?

Jesus would arise early in the morning and go outside and find a place of seclusion to pray. He spent time with the Father and received strength. It allowed Him to resist temptation. It allowed Him to succeed in His mission.

CAN YOU BE LOVING LIKE JESUS TODAY?

1 Corinthians 6:2 “Do ye not know that the saints shall judge the world?”

Make no mistake, the righteous will review each case and confirm that God’s judgment was correct.

The righteous will be the court of appeals and will not overturn one case in the heavenly courts at the end of time.

This world is broken and near its end.

Sin has run its ugly course, and is found wanting.

All intelligent life has concluded that “love” must be the foundation of all society, and little of it is found on earth.

I pray that you and I can and will be loving today. Let us exude the love of Jesus in all we do.

You and I can benefit much from studying the life of Jesus. It will give us the same power from the Father that He received. Power that will slowly change our desires to be more pure. HAVE YOU CONFESSED YOU SINS YET TODAY?

1 John 1:9 “If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.”

Jesus never fails us. We can rely upon His word.

This text in the Bible brings us much courage as we meditate on the character of Christ.

Praise God for forgiveness for our rebellions of sin.

This morning I confess and have a peace in my heart that only God provides.

How about you?

TODAY CAN BE SPECIAL BECAUSE YOU ARE FREE

Heb 9:24 “For Christ is not entered into the holy places made with hands, which are the figures of the true; but into heaven itself, now to appear in the presence of God for us.”

Jesus is still working; still working for us; for you and me.

He is our representative before the law and the Holy Judge. Satan accuses us of unforgivable transgressions, and Jesus smiles and covers us with His robe of righteousness.

We are made clean by the blood of Jesus and this should affect our feelings and our attitudes here on earth.

We can be free from the shackles of guilt. We can be free to move forward in ministry to others.

We can be free to move among the righteous and the wicked as directed by the Holy Spirit.

This is a wonderful life where we are released from the burdens of sin.

Rejoice with me and come to Jesus in prayer, meditation upon God’s Word and the study of the Bible. This is Spiritual Exercise.

THE AUDACITY OF SAINTS

Heb 4:16 “Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need.”

Yes, we are encouraged to come directly to God where there is mercy for us in our time of need.

When all is bleak. When all seems lost. When all is overwhelming. We can come to Jesus under all conditions.

No matter how severe our troubles, Jesus is there for us. He will give us strength. He will raise our courage.

We can come to the throne of grace with boldness because we are children of the almighty God. We are loved as His children.

As we love Him with all our hearts, He opens the door and releases power for us. Divine power to overcome the evils of this world.

Join me today and praise God for this love that will not let us go.

JESUS IS MY PRIEST AND MY BEST FRIEND

Heb 8:1-2 “Now of the things which we have spoken this is the sum: We have such an high priest, who is set on the right hand of the throne of the Majesty in the heavens;”

Jesus is our High Priest, and He is at the throne room of God.

Our mediator is of the highest order. He is God Himself sitting next to the Father.

When Satan accuses us, Jesus counters with the truth of our love for Him, and He agrees with the guilt, but then He applies His sacrifice on Calvary as the payment for our sins.

This is the ultimate gift that keeps on giving. Jesus never tires of helping you and me.

Join me today and praise God for this love that will not let us go.

ARE YOU FEELING TENDERHEARTED TODAY?

Eph 4:32 “And be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ’s sake hath forgiven you.”

This is such a good text for you and me to read.

So often we forget this counsel and treat each other with disrespect. We can be very harsh and demanding.

Jesus is our model and He was tender and sensitive to the feelings of others.

I pray that you and I will be like Him today.

DO YOU LIKE GOD THE FATHER?

Eph 2:18 “For through him we both have access by one Spirit unto the Father.”

The Father is the source of all power. He gave power to Jesus, the same power that is available to you and me.

If we would come closer to the Father, then our ministry would receive more power.

So, why don’t we do it?

God would like for us to be more effective, but first we must be more like Jesus.

It’s that simple.

Spiritual Exercise of prayer, Bible study and meditation upon God’s Word is the only way to have that relationship with Jesus that changes our carnal desires into holy ones.

I praise God for this power and this love from God.

LET’S TALK ABOUT GOD’S GRACE

Rom 3:24 “Being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus.”

It is refreshing, each morning, to reconsider this fact that we are saved and will have eternal life.

Not we are proud. No. We humbly accept this grace that we don’t deserve.

We accept this grace in order to praise God and worship Him and love others.

Our first duty is to love the Lord with ALL our hearts. And when we keep our eyes upon this need, then all other things fall into place.

I love writing about God’s love and I love reading about it also.

There is a lot to say and there is a lot to relish.

Don’t you feel better already? I know, I do.

Praise God for His love and eagerness to help you and me.

OH HAPPY DAY! OH HAPPY DAY!

Rom 6:23 “. . . the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.”

More good news!

I am a Jesus “groupie” and plan to stay that way.

My friendship with Him is changing me for the better and I’m a happy camper.

Only as we spend time with Him each day with Spiritual Exercise can we access this power from the Father. You see, none of this is on my own. No, I can do nothing about my sinful nature and weaknesses. My DNA is so corrupted that I am powerless on my own.

God will give you power also, as you follow the example of Jesus and pray and study the Bible.

What a joy is ours as we partake of His divine nature.

JESUS, OUR MODEL, ACTED AS A LAMB OF GOD. WHAT DOES THAT MEAN TO YOU AND ME?

John 1:29 “The next day John seeth Jesus coming unto him, and saith, Behold the Lamb of God, which taketh away the sin of the world.”

John, at that moment, understood the mission of Jesus.

Later, he wondered about His kingship and if He would take over the government, but that was not the way it would be.

Jesus came to us as a lamb. He sought no glory. He spurned this world’s money in favor of eternal life for you and me.

You and I would do well to follow His example and lead lives of self-sacrifice, where we would rather help someone else than add gold and silver to our pockets.

Jesus was meek until He met hypocrisy. He was loving at all times. He loved children and children were drawn to Him.

This is our model, and only through Spiritual Exercise can we become like Him.
