DO YOU FEEL DEPRESSED TODAY?

Rom 8:14-16 “For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God.”

You are not only holy, but you are also royalty. When you live in heaven after the 2nd Advent of Christ, you will be viewed by all living creatures as a special person. You will be closer to God because your love for God is greater, having been forgiven for so much.

Christians today fail to appreciate their special position as a son of God or a daughter of God. This is a great position.

Let’s remember, however, that humility is also a trait of God, and must be found also in His people and His sons and daughters.

These Bible texts should help us look at ourselves differently.

If you have low self-esteem, then read this text more often. It will help you.

If you are suffering from depression, then take courage in this truth.

I praise God for this honor to be His royal child.

What say you about God today?

MySpiritualExerciseSmallYou and I can benefit much from studying the life of Jesus. It will give us the same power from the Father that He received. Power that will slowly change our desires to be more pure. Power that will slowly help us to dislike sinful things. When our desires and “likes” change we can be used by God as a sweet aroma to help others.

Salvation is a one-to-one affair. Family or church worship isn’t enough to form and grow a relationship with God.

If Jesus spent all night in prayer then why do we think we need so little?

Jesus would arise early in the morning and go outside and find a place of seclusion to pray. He spent time with the Father and received strength. It allowed Him to resist temptation. It allowed Him to succeed in His mission.

Amen(0)

HOW CLOSE TO JESUS ARE YOU TODAY?

Jer 3:14 “Turn, O backsliding children, saith the Lord; for I am married unto you;

Does this help you understand how close Jesus wants you to be with Him?

The church is His bride. You and I are the church, so we are His bride.

Our relationship with Jesus should be intimate. Yes, intimate.

Through Spiritual Exercise we come closer and closer to Him, and then everything changes, even us.

This is what Christianity is all about. It’s about change and how we become more loving to others.

I praise God today for this plan for the sanctification of His saints and for this plan for the salvation of others.

YE ARE ALSO CALLED TO BE HOLY – AGAIN

1 Peter 2:5 “Ye also are an holy priesthood.”

Our occupation tends to define who we are. We see ourselves as categorized by our profession.

God wants us to see ourselves as priests and priestesses because this is more important than what we do for a living.

We need to aim higher. We need to accept the calling to be holy leaders and view ourselves in this light.

We are holy people when we engage in Spiritual Exercise and this should affect our outlook on ourselves and what we do.

Our occupations change not, and our income remains the same, but our purpose for living can be transformed.

We can begin to live like Jesus did as we seek to serve others out of love.

This transformation will fill us with the Holy Spirit and people will begin to view us differently also.

What a wonderful blessing we can be to the world.

I praise God today for this plan for the sanctification of His saints and for this plan for the salvation of others.

YE ARE ALSO CALLED TO BE HOLY

1 Cor 3:17 “the temple of God is holy, which temple ye are.”

Most of us underestimate the role that God desires for us to fill. We look at our lives and feel trapped by circumstances. We prefer to do bigger and better things. We want more money, power and prestige.

While we wish for all of the above, we neglect to appreciate the benefits of being holy.

To be holy is to have a reinforced (from God) self-confidence and peace that renders an incredible experience.

The holy person lives on a different plane.

The holy person has no worries.

The holy person has direction.

The holy person has no doubts.

The holy person becomes very influencial and important.

So, why then do we ingore this calling from God?

I pray that each of us will come closer to God with Spiritual Exercise today.

I praise God from whom all blessings flor.

YE ARE THE TEMPLE OF GOD

1 Cor 3:16 “ye are the temple of God”

This should be a sobering statement. Literally.

When we contemplate the meaning of this statement, we should be humbled. We should be more serious about our responsibilities.

My older brother was always serious about his responsibility for caring for me when we were young. I look back in my memory and am thankful. You and I need to have that faithfulness regarding God in our life.

I invite the Holy Spirit to guide me in the morning and I become a willing and eager temple for His presence.

It is good to talk and think about this process that provides us so many benefits.

I pray that those who meet me today will sense the presence of God and will desire it for themselves.

I praise God for His desire to be this close to me.

ARE YOU WORKING WITH GOD TODAY?

1 Cor 3:9 “For we are labourers together with God”

Notice that it says we labor “with” God and not “For” God.

This fits nicely with the words of Jesus that we are to be one with God.

We aim too low. Sometimes we think we should stay at the bottom rung of spirituality, when we should be striving for the top rung.

I don’t mean that we struggle with sin, because that’s not good. There is no need to struggle with sin. Sin will take care of itself if we get lots of Spiritual Exercise.

Why should I struggle with sin when God can change my desire for that very same sin?

Just come to God with ALL your heart and that sin will go away by your own desire!

Let’s face it, the sins we want to struggle with are the one’s we most desire.

Our DNA is messed up and God can change it, if we let Him.

I praise God for wanting us to work “with” Him. What glory can I then share!

AS JESUS IS GENTLE, SO SHOULD WE BE

Col 1:18 “And he is the head of the body, the church”

If the husband is the head of the wife, then he should treat the wife as Jesus does the church. Right?

I am a man, and I should learn from this. I should be patient, tender and sensitive. I should be a good listener and a good provider.

Jesus is the head of our church and the Holy Spirit is a power much like the wife is in a marriage.

The Trinity works in harmony and we work in harmony only when we come close to God through Spiritual Exercise.

I praise God for this knowledge that brings so much peace to my heart.

ARE YOU OVER DOMINATING YOUR WIFE?

Eph 5:23 “For the husband is the head of the wife”

I sometimes struggle with these words from the apostle Paul.

In the 21st century I view my wife as my equal. The Holy Spirit guides her as well as me. We both pray and we both love the Lord.

It is always my desire to please her and many times her feelings are stronger than mine, so we do what she wants and it is a beautiful thing.

So what does it mean to be the head of the wife today?

For me it means that God looks to me to care for her and to feel some responsibility to make sure she has time for daily Spiritual Exercise and all the spiritual support I can provide.

This is not about controlling purse strings or what books to read or what food to eat.

To be close to Christ is to live in harmony where all parties are led by the Spirit of God.

I praise God for closeness and intimacy with Him that brings us all closer together.

ARE YOU HEALING RACISM WHERE YOU ARE?

1 Cor 12:13 “For by one Spirit are we all baptized into one body”

Last evening I made a new friend whose skin color is different than mine. We exchanged only a few words, but he and I are both baptized into one body.

Therefore, he is now special to me. We are working for the Lord apart and together as the Holy Spirit leads.

We are baptized into one body.

Christians should be world leaders when it comes to ratial harmony.

Christians should never even think of someone else in a negative way because of race.

It hurts me to view video of law enforcement officers who are racist and who probably go to church each week.

I’m glad for this new emphasis in America that is intended to purify the police department and sheriff office.

But you and I can play a part and be stellar examples of love.

When we spend time in Spiritual Exercise we will become new creatures in Christ.

I praise God for the examples of how to live that Jesus gave to us so we can be changed.

WE NEED TO COME OUT OF BABYLON

Rev 18:4 “And I heard another voice from heaven, saying, Come out of her, my people, that ye be not partakers of her sins, and that ye receive not of her plagues.”

Has there ever been a more direct statement made for us to come to God?

Jesus repeated the thought when He said we should love God with All our hearts.

The world is tempting. The world sucks us into it’s treadmill, and we must break free and come close to God.

Spiritual Exercise is necessary and brings us into the sphere of God where we can be influenced by the Holy Spirit.

My friend, your time may be short, so I emphasize the importance of this topic.

I praise God for this counsel from the apostle John.

HOW DO YOU FEEL ABOUT NON-BELIEVERS?

Rom 2:14 “For when the Gentiles, which have not the law, do by nature the things contained in the law, these, having not the law, are a law unto themselves:”

I am so very glad that Paul wrote these words to the church.

Let me explain what it means.

If a heathen, or Buddhist or Muslim or Jew or any other non-Christian loves God with all his/her heart, then they are saved!

And when you consider what it means to love God with all your heart, then you will begin to understand why this is true.

When we love God with all our heart, we become more loving ourselves. We change and become sensitive and caring. We begin to serve others and we follow the laws of love.

Isn’t this beautiful?

God has His people everywhere. You and I might believe different things about what the Bible says, but if we comply with the command to love God with all our heart then we are truly in God’s true church.

I praise God for these words from the apostle.

ARE YOU SUFFERING TOO?

Acts 9:16 “For I will shew him how many things he must suffer for my name’s sake.”

Yes my friend, you and I might be called upon to suffer.

It might be job related or it might be a health issue. We don’t know what the future holds, but we do know that Jesus will be with us every moment of the day.

Suffering comes in many forms and we know it when we feel it.

But God has a plan and He is in ultimate control as He lets sin run its ugly course.

You and I hate sin, but we live in a sinful planet that is broken. We are called to be salt and light and receive the wrath of Satan.

Jesus never asks us to suffer more than did He on the cross at Calvary and we can be comforted by this thought.

He cares about us and has an eternal reward for us that is too glorious to describe.

I praise God for salvation.

ARE YOU A MEMBER OF GOD’S FOLD TODAY?

John 10:16 “there shall be one fold, and one shepherd”

What does this mean? Does this mean that only one church is valid?

I believe that my church is just a tool for me to use for ministry. It is a place where I serve others and where I encourage other believers. Of course, it’s also a place where I worship God.

God’s church is made up of the people who love Him with ALL their heart. That’s it. That’s all there is to it.

You and I don’t need to worry about our brothers and sisters. All we need be concerned about is our own relationship with God.

There is one fold, and it’s in the arms of Jesus. All else is an overstatement.

This doesn’t change truth and Jesus said He would send to us the Spirit of truth and we need to listen as the Holy Spirit guides us into all truth.

So you and I might believe different things about God, but if we both follow the Holy Spirit we will eventually end up with the same beliefs.

Again, the important thing is to be close to Jesus through Spiritual Exercise.

I praise God for these words of encouragement from the apostle John.

WHY DO YOU WORSHIP THE WAY YOU DO?

John 4:23 “But the hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit. . .”

Is your worship cold and without emotion?

Is your worship just a ceremony?

This Bible text helps us understand that it must be much more than that. It can be full of emotion as we think about the Cross and the life of Jesus.

Our worship can be full of gratitude and the Holy Spirit will give us guidance.

Without an emotive component, our worship is empty like a tomb.

Awake with me today, come let us worship in truth and in spirit!!

I praise God for so much, more than I can say.

ARE YOUR DONATIONS BEING SQUANDERED?

Mt 28:19 “Go ye therefore, and teach all nations.”

Jesus wants His church to be salt of the earth in every nation. He wants people who are filled with the Spirit to bring good news to all people.

This message is still relevant today, even when so many churches spend all their money on themselves. Mega-churches springing up in large cities where the pastors own private jets and have wardrobes of dozens of suits and houses like palaces.

Where is Jesus in this?

The church today is ridiculed by non-believers. In some countries the word “church” is disdained.

You and I should be sensitive to how we represent God to a broken world.

We have a commmission from on high and I praise God for missionaries who are in virtually every country on earth.

I praise God for this salt that is doing its job for Jesus.

WERE YOU KIND TO EVERYONE YESTERDAY?

1 Cor 10:32 “Give none offence”

It is too easy today to become argumentative.

We want to argue. Sometimes we even trick people into an argument just so we can win.

Maybe we want to do something to offend a muslim who is irritating us.

Maybe we want to offend our brother or sister and get even for another wrong.

As Christians we should not seek to get even. We should forgive and turn the other cheek.

I know this is illogical and difficult to do sometimes, but Jesus did it.

Spiritual Exercise softens our hearts and encourages us to give no offence.

It’s a wonderful thing and I want you to share in it today.

I praise God for this privilege of being one with Jesus.

Mt 28:19 “Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost.”

This isn’t a magical device or ceremony. No, this is to demonstrate a new beginning of a new life that is to be one with God.

Jesus wants us to be one with Him and the Father. He wants us to come away from our sinful DNA and join Him in order to change our desires through Spiritual Exercise.

Our best friend is Jesus, and that should make us want to spend more time with Him.

To be born again is a wonderful way to live and I praise God for this.

You and I can become holy through Spiritual Exercise.

Our thoughts can conform to the model of Jesus and our actions will follow.

Yes, we will fail many times along the way, but God forgives our mistakes, while we are on the path to righteousness.

GOOD NEWS TODAY

Ps 62:7 “In God is my salvation.”

What’s going on is bigger than me. There is this great controversy between Satan and God.

Satan figured he could be a God too, and in a few short years his self-centered decisions led him to hate God and desire to kill Jesus.

I joined Satan’s rebellion for a time, and I still find myself on his side from time to time, but God let’s me repent and return to where I want to be with Him.

My vaccilation is always forgiven, and it’s only because of Jesus.

Spiritual Exercise helps me to make better choices when tempted, and for that I’m thankful. It helps me to grow closer and closer to Jesus and that makes all the difference.

I praise God. I praise Jesus. I praise the Holy Spirit for helping and saving you and me.

So, join me and spend time with God. Spiritual Exercises are fun, You’ll love it!

If Jesus spent all night in prayer then why do we think we need so little?

Jesus would arise early in the morning and go outside and find a place of seclusion to pray. He spent time with the Father and received strength. It allowed Him to resist temptation. It allowed Him to succeed in His mission.

OMG, OMG, OMG – WHAT DOES GOD THINK OF THIS?

Deut 32:3 “ascribe ye greatness unto our God”

What is your opinion of OMG?

Do you think that this ascribes greatness to His name?

Does this slang expression bother you?

When people say this, how does it make you feel?

I believe that as we do our daily Spiritual Exercise the Holy Spirit will lessen our desire to use this phrase that is disrespectful to our Savior.

I don’t criticize others, because we are all on our own spiritual journey.

My calling is to encourage everyone to come closer to Jesus and then God will guide each person, individually and then this phrase will be used less and less.

I can only encourage and affirm the glory of God and the good news of salvation.

We can all praise Jesus today for His love.

Collateral Damage

Collateral damage seems okay to many
as long as it’s far, far away.
They shoot a smart missle and hit a small building.
“We killed them!” is all they then say.

But what of the others who also did suffer,
bystanders and passersby too?
Doesn’t it matter that others were included?
What will their families now do?

“Casualties of war” is the official statement,
“They should not have been there that day.”
And if they are pressed to give more information,
“We got the bad guys.” they do say.

The oval office seems calm and serene,
orders are given to target and kill.
The calls are then made and with knowledge beforehand
that innocent blood will then spill.

Does anyone care? Does it matter today?
that those people are murdered this way.
So, I’m writing my thoughts for my friends here to know.
What else can I do but to pray.

Injured Child

OUR ATTITUDES SHOULD BE YOUNG AND OUR UNDERSTANDING OLD

1 Cor 14:20 “Brethren, be not children in understanding”

Yes, we should never graduate from the school of the Bible and of God.

No matter how old we are we learn as we open the Word of God.

The Holy Spirit opens our eyes and we glimpse the glory of God and truth as we have never before seen it.

This is a wonderful, exciting experience that you and I can have each and every day.

The Bible will bring us closer and closer to God and it will change our desires to be more holy.

Who wouldn’t want that?

I praise God for this assistance.

WHAT’S YOUR LIFE LIKE?

1 John 5:12 “He that hath the Son, hath life;”

This verse can be interpreted in two ways.

It can be speaking of eternal life that is assured through our relationship with Jesus and it can be speaking of the fabric of life today.

I prefer the latter interpretation because so many Christians fail to grasp and enjoy this life that partakes of God’s divine nature through Spiritual Exercise.

Ephesians 2:6 tells us that we are already in heaven, spiritually speaking, and I get that.

As we come closer and closer to Jesus through Spiritual Exercise, our desires change and we care less for things on this planet and more for things that matter.

We begin to love other people more and we begin to have an inner peace that can be achieved no other way.

I tell you, this matters and this works.

I praise God for caring for you and me; for loving you and me.

GOD’S LOVE PERFECTED IN US

1 John 4:12 “No man hath seen God at any time. If we love one another, God dwelleth in us, and his love is perfected in us.”

How can this be?

Angels marvel when they see a sinner repent and when they see one of us become born again.

This process reveals in the highest sense the love of God because without His power we would have no faith.

The Father gives us His power to begin the process of repentance and then the Holy Spirit ministers to us and we take the next step.

Only by the love of Jesus can we enjoy salvation, and this salvation leads to zeal and a burden for the salvation of others.

We never sit still because our love that is nurtured by God’s love looks constantly to be of service and to be shared.

It seems wrong to think that God’s love is perfected in us, but it is true nonetheless.

I praise God for this love that is poured out upon us.

ARE YOU AIMING TOO LOW?

2 Peter 1:4 “be partakers of the divine nature”

This is a small part of my daily prayer.

Do you realize what a big deal this is? Peter is telling us to get so close to God that we partake of His divine nature.

All I can say is that most of us aim too low.

Instead of just trying to be good, we should be trying to be like God Himself!!!

This is huge!

I don’t know about you, but this is an invitation that I don’t want to miss, so I pray for this every morning.

God wants us to be like Him not because He want it, but because it will make everyone happier. It will make everyone wiser and it will result in a life with a lot less problems.

I praise God for this wise counsel and I pray that you will join Peter and be a partake of divine nature.

GOD WILL CHANGE YOU, IF . .

Heb 10:26 “For if we sin willfully after that we have received the knowledge of the truth, there remaineth no more sacrifice for sins.”

This is a sobering statement. One that bears repeating from time to time.

Confession is one thing but to willfully sin, is quite another. But we might do this more often than we realize. We might have addictions and weaknesses.

This is why confession needs to be accompanied by contrition. We need to be truly sorry for our behavior when it is non-complaint with God.

But there is another way, and that is to spend more time with God in Spiritual Exercise, and then our desires will change over time. This is a miraculous power that God provides you and me.

To willfully sin demonstrates our deep desire for what is not good, and God can help us change these desires.

I praise God for His help in our hour of need.

WHAT’S IN YOUR HEART TODAY?

Everyone agrees that this means that those people have changed and that sin no longer is in their life. They behave just like Jesus. They no longer are tempted by sinful ideas and actions.

Men like these understand that pornography is just naked women being abused by greedy men. Men like these understand that alcohol is just chemicals destroying the body. Men like these understand that loving relationships are more important than material possessions.

Women like these understand that our security is in Jesus Christ and not a large house and lots of clothes. Women like these understand that loving relationships are more important than social standing or climbing the ladder of success.

When we perform our Spiritual Exercise daily we begin to change because we are spending time in the presence of Jesus.

Our desires change and what we once thought attractive now seems distant and unimportant.

Instead of wanting material things of this world, we are more interested in loving relationships.

I praise God for this change that takes place in His people’s hearts.

DO YOU GET IT?

Heb 3:14 “For we are made partakers of Christ”

Peter says we should partake of God’s divine nature, and Paul says we can partake of Christ. I think these two statements mean the same thing. Through Spiritual Exercise we can become more and more like Jesus. We can develop His character and come closer and closer to God and become truly spiritual and holy beings.

It is our calling, our destiny to be holy – a holiness that is humble and meek, a holiness that resembles God Himself.

You might be holy and not even realize it. You might feel your needs and receive power to overcome from the Father, and not realize that your outward life is truly holy.

Our relationship with Jesus provides us with power and the closer to Him we come, the more power we receive.

It is a wonderful gift.

I praise God for the daily help that He gives to us.

YOU CAN BE HOLY TOO

1 Thess 4:7 “For God hath not called us unto uncleanness, but unto holiness.”

So many of us ignore this simple fact that we are called to be holy.

You are called by God to be holy. Do you understand this?

This is not a mistake and this is not an idea that is extreme. This is mainstream Christianity – you are called by God to be holy.

Think about this today. Meditate on this today. Consider this throughout your day.

Pray about this and what it means to be holy.

Holiness is our calling and we need to come to terms with the idea.

I praise God for this request that will bring us closer to Him through Spiritual Exercise.
